OBJECTIVES:
  1. The lecture will review the various types of burns, depth, extent of injury and associated problems. The techniques of resuscitation will be reviewed as well as various surgical treatment.
  2. The student should be able to estimate extent and degree of burn.
  3. the student should be able to calculate fluid replacement needs.
  4. the student should be able to describe the necessary steps in evaluation and treatment of burns.
