Please review the information below to learn more about scholarship opportunities for undergraduate athletic training students, then click on the respective application links.  Because each application requires a sponsoring ATC, interested students should discuss their intent to apply with program faculty.

Preston Jordan Athletic Training Scholarship
This scholarship is made possible by the generous support of the estate of Preston Jordan and is designed specifically for athletic training students in the professional phase of the program who demonstrate high academic achievement in conjunction with a clear commitment to the program and to the UNE in general.  For more information, please use the following link:

Bates College Athletic Training Student Scholarship
Like all clinical education opportunities, Bates College provides a unique experience; however the travel costs may be prohibitive for some students.  The Athletics and Athletic Training Departments at Bates College may offer a scholarship for the UNE Athletic Training Student selected for this experience.  This is NOT a guaranteed scholarship, but it has historically been between $500 and $1,000 and is open to all students in the Professional Phase of the program.  Please contact Chris Rizzo, Clinical Education Coordinator for more information about this opportunity.

Eastern Athletic Trainers' Association
The EATA offers scholarships to undergraduate students enrolled in Athletic Training Education Programs in the amount of $1,500 - $2,000 awarded at the EATA Annual Meeting.  The scholarships are designed for senior students who are either pursuing graduate study in athletic training or entering the profession of athletic training.

Applications must be postmarked no later than November 1st and should be sent to the address listed on the form.

Maine Athletic Trainers' Association
The MATA offers two scholarships to undergraduate students enrolled in Athletic Training Education Programs:

1. The Wes Jordan Scholarship - Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, been a member of the MATA for at least one year prior to applying, and should have served with distinction as part of their program.

2. The Carl Nelson Scholarship.  Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, been a member of the NATA District One for at least one year prior to applying, and should have served with distinction as part of their program.

National Athletic Trainers' Association
The NATA Research and Education Foundation offers an undergraduate (available to juniors enrolled in an ATEP) and masters (available to seniors intending to pursue graduate school in 2005-06) scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each.  Candidates must have a minimum 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale and must have been a NATA member for at least one year prior to application.

Applications must be postmarked no later than February 10th and should be sent to the address listed on the form.
