So what is Phycology anyway?

Phycology is the study of the algae. The algae are relatively simple plants (or protists) which lack roots, stems and leaves. Algae are primarily aquatic plants, found in marine, fresh or brackishwaters. They are commonly referred to as seaweeds or phytoplankton.
