Conclusion:

Congratulations! You have completed your job for the Institute. Your hard work has helped us to further our knowledge of one of the most influential cultures in world history. From the beginnings of the Viking Age, when the monastery of Lindsfarne was raided (793), to its end, when King Harald Hardrathi was killed at the Battle of Stamford Bridge(1066), these barbaric norsemen brought destruction and chaos to those that they conquered. However, they were also civilized in many ways. For example viking women were given many of the same rights as viking men. This was in an era when women, elsewhere in the world, were given very few rights. The vikings played a constructive role by revitalizing and diffusing civilizations across the globe. They had a knack for assimilating into the cultures that they conquered. Their rise marked the end of the great ancient civilization of Rome. Their reign and fall led to a rebirth of European culture, which came to be known as the Renaissance.
