Great Sites For Students:

Puzzle Center

At this puzzle center students can play many different types of puzzles such as crossword puzzles, word search, word scramble, secret code and word shape match. You can also create puzzles for your students to play. The puzzles are designed around themes such as weather, the senses, plants and community safety. All the puzzles are played on line.

Classroom Connect

A site that has many web based curriculum products. Student lesson plans are organized by subject and grade level with student web based activities. Also many teacher resources.

Scholastic

The best resources online for K-8 teachers.  Lesson Plans & reproducibles, authors & books, research tools, activities, magazines, book and software reading programs. 

PrimaryGames.com

Online educational games for primary students covering topics in Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts. Site features holiday activities, coloring pages, worksheets, crafts, certificates, online stories, and more! 

Enchanted Learning

This is a great site for K-2 teachers. Many theme based activities on topics from the alphabet to dinosaurs to explorers. YOu will find printouts, games, quizzes, picture dictionaries and much more.

Funschool.com

Lots of great educational games and activities. There areas for preschool through third grade. Topics include math and reading, concentration, seasons, animals and more.

FunBrain

At this site kids can play Math Baseball, Line Jumper, make their own word search puzzles, play What's the Word and write their own crazy story in Wacky Tales. Lots to do here and lots to learn.

PBS Kids

At this site you will find songs to sing, interactive stories, games and coloring pages to print or color online. The Sesame Street pages have alphabet pages to print and make an alphabet book. Go to PBS Kids and visit Kratts' creatures, Arthur, Teletubbies...for many more games and activities. This is a huge site.

Flash Cards For Kids

This is a site for practicing math facts. Kids that are learning addition love this site. You will also find subtraction, multiplication, and division flash cards so many ages can use this site.

Bats4Kids

A great site about bats. Here you can click on visit a bat cave and take a tour through an actual bat cave or visit an actual live bat cam. Great pages of bat facts and many bat games to play.

Kids Domain

This is a comprehensive site with online games, printable sheets, crafts, contests and more. You will find themes such as dinosaurs, animals and space as well as math, science and language arts activities. A great K-2 site.

Kid Pix Online

This site goes with the Kid Pix software. At the site click on Online painting and students can use draw and paint tools to design a picture on line. They will love it.

Kendra's Coloring Book

A collection  of drawings to color online. The drawings include images of frogs, insects, flowers and geometric shapes. This is a fun site for kids that they can use independently. You can also print them out and color them. There is also a coloring contest each month. The winner has his/her picture posted on the site.

Learning Planet

A great site. Many educational games to play organized by grade level. Games have audio and animation for younger learners.

Children's Storybooks

This has online alphabet and counting stories as well as online stories for older students. 

Jan Brett's Home Page

At this site you can email postcards to friends, download artwork and activities designed by author illustrator Jan Brett, read about the author and much more. The postcards are fun and easy to send.

Suessville Games

On and off-line games to play featuring all your favorite Dr. Suess characters. A great in The Hat concentration game. 

Berenstain Bears

Join the Berenstain Bears storybook characters for fun. This site features a slider puzzle, coloring pages, story books, a secret message to decode and more

Billy Bear's Playground

At this playground there are many activities including sticker games, online jigsaw puzzles, tic-tac-toe, Billy Bear checkers, printable coloring pages, crafts and stories about Billy Bear's adventures. A great site with lots to do.

Kid's Carnival

This site has learning games, puzzles, and activities dealing with colors, shapes, time numbers, letters and a great phonics game. There is even a penguin addition and subtraction game. The games take a minute to load but are worth the wait.

Plimoth Plantation

Take a virtual tour with your students of Plimoth Plantation in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Pictures and text provide information about the architecture, clothing, tools and habits of the first settlers. Just click on the blue links at the site for a great tour.

Old Sturbridge Village

Here you can take a virtual tour by visiting each building in town, from the blacksmith to the school and local store. Each stop contains photos and descriptions. The kids will love the panoramic views. There is also a sights and sound section to hear audio clips.

Kids Click

A web search for kids by librians. Kids just type in topic and click search and only age appropriate kids sites come up. A great tool for teachers to find great kid sites to use with a unit.

The Global Schoolhouse

This site features online field trips and expeditions to participate in with your students. You can register for collaborative student projects organized by topic or grade level. This is also a great teacher resource site. You can make awards and flash cards for students online and print them, there are printable worksheets, an extensive collection of lesson plans and much more.

The Project Center

The Project Center is located at the Houghton Mifflin Education Place. It is a collection of online projects created by teachers like you. Here you can find or share collaborative classroom projects for use over the Internet.

  ePALS

ePALS.com is the largest online classroom community with members from over 65,000 classrooms. Search and find email pals and participate in interactive projects together.

Kidlink Projects

At this site students take part in many online writing activities. Students can post stories and art work on the web site to share with others.

World WeatherWatch

This site pairs classes located in different climatic zones for an exchange of weather information on a weekly basis.

Certificate Creator
