Wednesday, January 16 - Introduction

 Sunday night, January 20 – Send response to chapters 1-4 in Mosaic of Thought. 

Wednesday, January 23 - Mosaic of Thought Lesson Planning and Teaching organization and It’s Okay to be Different workshop in class.  Due: Selected Artifact Presentations.

 Sunday night, January 27 - Send response to chapters 1-3 in Reading Essentials or chapters 1 & 2 in I Read It, But I Don’t Get It  (Those students interested in teaching K-3 can choose to send response to Put Reading First pp. 1-20 instead). 

Wednesday, January 30 –Mosaic of Thought preparation #1 in class and modeling of Inferencing in class. 

Due: Selected Artifact Presentations.

 Sunday night, February 3 – Send response to chapters 7 & 8 in Reading Essentials or chapters 3 & 4 in I Read It, But I Don’t Get It  (Those students interested in teaching K-3 can choose to send response to Put Reading First pp. 21-44 instead). 

Wednesday, February 6- Mosaic of Thought preparation #2 in class.  Due: Bring phonemic awareness “rhyming” book to class, and selected Artifact Presentations.

 

Sunday night, February 10- Electronically send your group’s Mosaic of Thought Lesson Planning and Teaching Update.

 

Monday, February 11 - Send response to send Clinical Experience #1 or Literacy Practicum response #1.

Wednesday, February 13 - Mosaic of Thought preparation #3    Due: Selected Artifact Presentations

 

Sunday night, February 17- Literacy Project students send DVD library assignment.

 

Wednesday, February 20- Presentation of Chapter five in Mosaic of Thought.  Due: Read chapter 5 in Mosaic.

 

Sunday night, February 24 - Send response to chapter 6 in Reading Essentials/chapter 5 in I Read It, But I Don’t Get It. [Add a point 5 and respond to either Captain Underpants or Junie B. Jones.]

 Monday night, February 25 – Grad students respond to two peer-reviewed articles. 

Wednesday, February 27  - Presentation of chapter six in Mosaic of Thought and Captain Underpants and Junie B. Jones and Families discussion in class.  Due: Read chapter 6 in Mosaic.

 Sunday night, March 2  – By midnight, send Clinical Experience #2 or Literacy Practicum response #2.   

Wednesday, March 5  - Presentation of Chapter seven in Mosaic of Thought and Liz Millett and Laurie Richard, Primary grade teachers who completed the UNE teacher certification program.  Due: Read chapter 7 in Mosaic.

 

Sunday night, March 9 – Send response to Laurie’s and Liz’s visit.

No Class  March 12 – Spring Break

 

Wednesday, March 19  - Presentation of Chapter eight in Mosaic of Thought and Amy Wheeler, Fifth Grade Teacher at Falmouth Middle School.  Due: Read chapter 8 in Mosaic.

 

Sunday night, March 23– Send Clinical Experience #3 and response to Amy Wheeler’s visit.

 

Wednesday, March 26 – Literature Circles and Sue Atwood, Eighth Grade Teacher at Westcott Junior High in Westbrook. 

 

Sunday night, March 30 – Send one combined response to chapters 4 & 5 in Reading Essentials or chapters 6 & 7 in I Read It, But I Don’t Get It and to Sue Atwood’s visit (#1 is about the reading and #2 is about Sue’s visit, #3 – a question from either, and #4 – a possible response. 

 

Wednesday, April 2 – Literacy Project lesson plan due.

 

Sunday night, April 5 – Send Clinical Experience Record Sheet electronically and response to chapter 9 & 10 in Reading Essentials or chapters 8 & 9 in I Read It, But I Don’t Get It.

 

Wednesday, April 9 – Multicultural Literature

 

Sunday night, April 13- Send response to chapters 11 & 12 in Reading Essentials or Part 3 in I Read It, But I Don’t Get It.
